Five things you can do to support friends with cancer

Five things you can do to support people you know in treatment for cancer.

  1. If you see them, don't run away - they are not contagious. And it will make them feel less lonely.

  2. If you don't know what to say then ask, "How are you doing?" Then listen with an open heart.

  3. If you're afraid to call and possibly wake them up from a nap - text them! That gives them the opportunity to text you back when they have more energy.

  4. If you're afraid - awareness is the key. Fear is a powerful emotion and does more harm than good.

  5. Focus on their healing and well-being. That is the best kind of energy to share.
